Crescat Boulevard, commonly known as Crescat is a small shopping place but the items offered by the high-end shops are of the finest quality in Colombo. The mall located just 35 Kms from Bandaranaike International Airport is connected to the widely popular Cinnamon Grand hotel.
When you are in Colombo, looking for branded products and designer wear, Crescat should be the ultimate destination. Though the outlets are open till seven in the evening, the food court serves till 10 PM. Crescat might not cover a huge area as compared to other supermarkets like Liberty Plaza or Majestic City, but it is considered a shopping paradise for its abundance in variety of products.
For women who are parts of the changing world of fashion, this Colombo shopping mall has some celebrated boutiques like Broadway, Kadapatha and Shopping Girl. There are shops for menís outfits as well such as Hameedias and Paris Gallery and they offer both formal and casual wears. Visitors are often surprised to find Addidas and Reebok stores inside the supermarket offering their complete range of sportswear. For those shopping around for shoes, stores like Lakshmi, Bettans and Pearlrich are must-see outlets. They provide sports and fashion shoes for allómen, women and children.
However, if one is looking for traditional Singhalese products and handicrafts, one can take a sneak peek into the Prasanna Batiks that stores interesting handicraft items and batiks.
The Mlesna Tea Centre is another draw for Colombo visitors as they can purchase Ceylon tea from here and taste the aroma of this home-grown tea leaves. The other tea stores in the same building include Dilmah Tea and Keels Super.†
To round up the shopping, one can retire to the Crescat Boulevard food court to please the taste buds with imported delicacies or in-house bakery delights.
